River
Class III White-Water
Rarfting

Winding through
a region known as the land of "Eternal Spring," the
Sarapiquí River offers some of Costa Rica's most vibrant
and lush tropical scenery. The free-flowing river has its origins
in clear mountain streams that tumble down through thick rain
forests to finally join the crystal waters of the beautiful Sarapiquí.
Verdant forests stretch right up to the river's sunny banks. If
Matisse had come to Costa Rica, this is what he would have painted!
This narrow,
low-volume river is ideal for white-water novices and families,
all of who will enjoy its moderately flowing rapids interspersed
with tranquil stretches. The journey also is excellent for bird-watchers
and other nature lovers. The river stretches its way through lush
vegetation giving shelter to hummingbirds, toucans, woodpeckers
and scores of other native bird species. This classic tropical
river experience should not be missed!

Guests
are picked up from their San José hotel in a comfortable
minibus and driven approximately two and a half hours to the river
put-in. A traditional breakfast is served at a restaurant along
the way. After a short safety briefing, the rafts are rigged and
the journey down the river begins. A lunch of sandwiches, fruits
and dessert is served on the banks of the river. Take out will
be in the afternoon, and guests can change into dry clothes in
our private restroom facilities before boarding the comfortable
minibus for the return drive to San José.

What
a wonderful time I had with my family. This was definitely
a weekend venture that we will all remember. Thanks to Silvia
my kids could both feel comfortable in a raft in the water.
We will highly recommend this venture to all our friends.
Thanks again.
