The Pacuare River has been officially declared a Wild and Scenic River, and offers some of the finest white-water rafting in Latin America, winding deep inside of one of Costa Rica's most impressive primordial rain forests. You will travel down 18 miles of remote rushing waters that run through a scenic wilderness characterized by lush vegetation covering the sides of steep gorges that rise above the riverbanks. The thick undergrowth provides shelter for jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and numerous other species of animals and birds.

Once we pick you up from your hotel, we'll pass through one of Costa Rica's most lovely rain forests, the Braulio Carrillo National Park. As we exit the park, we'll make a brief stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The ride to the river put-in at Tres Equis, including the breakfast stop, takes approximately three hours. Professional guides and the rafting equipment will be waiting at the river put-in.

After our guides provide safety instructions, we'll begin this incredible white-water rafting journey. The trip down the river will be filled with excitement as the inflatable raft squeezes through narrow openings between huge boulders and runs long stretches of powerful rapids. Along the way, our guides will serve a delicious lunch of cold meats, cheeses, lettuce, fruits, bread and juice along the river's edge. While lunch is being prepared, you'll have plenty of time to relax amidst the spectacular jungle scenery and marvel at the raw, pounding power of the untamed Pacuare River, which for millions of years has flowed through this virgin tropical rain forest.
