| Pacuare
River One day, Class IV white-water rafting |
||||||||||||||||
The Pacuare River has been officially declared a Wild and Scenic River, and offers some of the finest white-water rafting in Latin America, winding deep inside of one of Costa Rica's most impressive primordial rain forests. You will travel down 18 miles of remote rushing waters that run through a scenic wilderness characterized by lush vegetation covering the sides of steep gorges that rise above the riverbanks. The thick undergrowth provides shelter for jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths and numerous other species of animals and birds. Once
we pick you up from your hotel, we'll pass through one of Costa Rica's
most lovely rain forests, the Braulio Carrillo National Park. As we
exit the park, we'll make a brief stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast.
The ride to the river put-in at Tres Equis, including the breakfast
stop, takes approximately three hours. Professional guides and the rafting
equipment will be waiting at the river put-in.
