Rosa Blanca Country Inn * * * *

Inspired
by Gaudí's architectonics and the Santa Fe style, many
consider Finca Rosa Blanca to be Costa Rica's best boutique hotel
choice in the San José area. Situated above the beautiful
Central Valley, in a 10-acre farm surrounded by towering tropical
fig trees and exotic flora, the Finca Rosa Blanca offers spectacular
views of volcanoes, cloud forests and coffee plantations. Andrew
Harper's Hideaway Report says: "Here, artistic owner-hosts
Glenn and Teri Jampol make you feel like a special guest in a
winsome private home." This artful inn is filled with eclectic
adornments, including an assortment of pre-Columbian artifacts,
contemporary paintings, wood sculptures, beautiful weavings, unusual
furnishings and artsy objects collected over the years by its
owners.
The
Rosa Blanca Honeymoon Suite is built inside a 40-foot-high tower
with a 360-degree view of the surrounding lush countryside and
Central Valley beyond. Stairs built around a Cristóbal
tree trunk lead down to the master bathroom. There, a hand-painted
tropical rainforest mural surrounds the bathtub-pool, which is
fed by spring water cascading down a stone waterfall. No description
can quite capture this room's unique design, where you may enjoy
your own bar and sumptuous living room that opens onto a large
private patio.
An
extraordinary hillside infinity swimming pool provides luxuriant
bathing and is surrounded by tropical gardens, secluded decks
and shaded verandas where guests can sunbathe and enjoy the magnificent
vistas.

Monteverde
Cloud Forest - A Honeymoon Fairytale...
(3 days)
|
|
|
The
Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, Costa Rica's premier cloud forest,
is situated along the Continental Divide in western Costa Rica,
extending down both the Caribbean and Pacific slopes. Clouds drift
in continually and settle among the slopes, providing a constant
source of moisture that feeds the lush vegetation, giving the
cloud forest its name. A vast difference in altitudes within the
forest preserve creates ideal environments for a great diversity
of plant life, from wind-sculpted dwarf woodlands on exposed ridges
to protected cove forests with majestically towering trees decorated
with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines and thick mosses. Home
of the exotic and resplendent quetzal, the Monteverde Cloud Forest
is also the habitat of many rarely seen endangered species, such
as the jaguar.
Hiking
through several swamp forests, you may come across clear crystal
streams tumbling along, with bubbling rapids and singing waterfalls.
Three
days here gives you ample opportunity to explore all seven of
the park's trails, leading more than six miles through the forest
Overnight
accommodations are at El Establo Hotel - a charming little lodge
nestled in the heart of the conservation area of Monteverde. Within
walking distance of the Ecological Farm and Butterfly Garden,
the hotel prides itself on providing excellent service and customer
satisfaction. El Establo is conveniently located seven kilometers
from the Santa Elena Rain Forest reserve and four kilometers from
the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. A spacious garden wonderland
surrounds the hotel, making you feel a part of your own fairytale.
From here, you may choose to visit the Butterfly Garden, the Serpentarium,
delight yourselves with the local Cheese Factory Tour, mountain
biking, horseback riding, or experience the can't-miss Sky Trek
Canopy Tour!
After
settling in, you may spend your afternoon exploring this dreamlike
town, doing what appeals to you the most: hike along Monteverde's
beautiful forest trails, visit the local cheese factory or shop
for local arts and crafts. Look out for the various welcoming
restaurants in the area and choose your favorite one - the ideal
romantic dinner awaits you amidst the clouds!

1: Following breakfast in Monteverde (or another starting point),
your journey continues on to La Fortuna de San Carlos, near Arenal
Lake and Arenal Volcano. The volcano's perfect cone emerges from
Alajuela's gentle green hills, and from time to time loud explosions

to explore this beautiful area.
For
your afternoon activity, explore a path that leads through fields

Arenal Lake meet, leading through a beautiful trail. Our journey
starts at Arenal Lake Dam, where you will take an old trail into
the forest. At the end of the trail, you will arrive at the entrance
of Arenal Volcano National Park, leading you to the Observatory
and later back to the main road. On this exciting and peace-evoking
ride, you will be able to come accross many bird species, such
as, toucans and trogons, as you enjoy the beauty of the Arenal
area. This short journey provides a wonderful setting for nature

Pacuare
Jungle Adventure: A Thrilling Ride to a Romantic Oasis!
(3 Days)
|
|
|
The
Pacuare is a swiftly running and rapidly changing river, making
this one of the most invigorating and intense rafting trips available
anywhere in the world. Dozens of species of mammals and birds
abound in this pristine tropical paradise.
As
the sun sets over the jungle canopy, and the beautiful Pacuare
River rushes on beneath crimson skies, the two of you can reflect
on your experience of a lifetime.
Day
1 - Pacuare River Rafting
Plunge into an unique adventure together, as you raft down the
challenging rapids of the Pacuare River, considered by experienced
rafters to be the most scenic class III-IV rapids in the world!
Upon
arrival to the banks of the Pacuare River, our experienced guides
will thoroughly brief you on safety measures before you head down
the river. You'll experience the exhilaration of riding the waves
on this magnificent river, which courses through a tropical wilderness
of dense vegetation and steep gorges that rise majestically above
its banks.
This
five-mile rafting journey ends at the Pacuare Lodge - a jungle
oasis nestled in the middle of an enchanting and captivating rainforest.
Surrounded by ancient towering trees, a two-story jungle lodge
houses rustic yet comfortable dining facilities on the first floor,
and plenty of relaxing hammocks in an open-air second floor lounge.
Modern wooden bungalows with palm-thatched roofs have been carefully designed to blend into the forest. Each bungalow hides beneath giant trees that have stood guard over this forest for eons. As the sun dips behind the trees, why not head up to our romantic upstairs bar and rest area for a drink, followed by a voluptuous exotic dinner served in a dreamlike, candlelit ambiance. Just when you think the evening can't get any better, grab a lantern and head off to your cozy honeymoon bungalow, beautifully detailed beyond your expectations, for a night of pure romance!
Day
2 - A Day Exploring the Pacuare Wilderness...
After breakfast, you'll embark on a guided trek into the rainforest surrounding the lodge. Teeming with tropical birds, butterflies, exotic plants and animals, this truly stunning natural paradise provides a one-of-a-kind setting for lasting photographs and memories. For hearty hikers, there is a five- to six-hour hike into the mountains to an area where some of the indigenous Cabecar families live. Return to "base camp" at the Pacuare Lodge in time to shower and rest before indulging in a candlelit dinner prepared by one of our expert chefs. As the sun sets over the jungle canopy, you and your soul mate may retire to a sweet and peaceful rest for the next fun-filled day.
Day
3 - Pacuare River Rafting
Morning arrives with the sweet songs of exotic birds twittering
among the treetops and the chattering of the rushing river rapids
surging a few hundred feet away. A hearty breakfast awaits you,
with freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee, fresh fruit and yogurt,
French toast and eggs. The second day of the paddling journey
is filled with a challenging interaction with the river's natural
forces, a stimulating and adrenaline-filled 13-mile ride. Rafting
becomes even more exciting as you and your teammates apply the
skills previously gained to navigate the energy-filled waters
of Pacuare River.
Your
guides will stop the rafts along the journey and lead you up paths
and side streams that open onto pristine waterfalls and natural
water slides. Here the two of you may swim, splash and take everlasting
pictures! A well-deserved lunch will be served along the river,
deli-style.
The
day ends with the triumph of having conquered one of the most famous
rivers in the world together.
At river take-out, you may change into dry clothes in our private
restroom facilities before boarding a comfortable mini-van for

His English was great, he gave great instructions on the river.
His attitude was everything. We are honeymooners and we shared

special dinner for us on an outside table by candlelight +
a special bottle.
This is a great company - we had a blast - will be back. Thanks
